About RezWorks Studios

Built in Tahlequah. Built to last.

We're an independent game studio making narrative-driven games rooted in Indigenous language and life — starting with the Cherokee Nation. This is our story so far.

Our Story

Why we make games this way

RezWorks Studios was founded in Tahlequah, Oklahoma — the capital of the Cherokee Nation — with a simple goal: build games where Indigenous language and life aren't background dressing, they're the point. Our first title, A Cherokee Tale, is being built around missions rooted in daily life — hunting, fishing, and scouting — with dialogue spoken primarily in Cherokee throughout.

A Cherokee Tale is where we're starting, not where we stop. We're open to partnering with other tribal nations who want their own language, land, and story built into a game the same way — with care, and in conversation with the community it's about.

What We Value

How we work

Story First

Gameplay serves the narrative, not the other way around.

Language & Culture

Indigenous language is central to design, not an afterthought — whichever nation's story we're telling.

Community Partnership

We build in conversation with the Cherokee Nation, and with any tribal nation we partner with next.

Craftsmanship

Small team, deliberate pace, and care in every detail.

Leadership

Joseph Price

Joseph Price

President & Digital Creator

Joseph is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and leads studio direction and development at RezWorks Studios. His archival research helped lead to a historic $80 million trust settlement between the Cherokee Nation and the U.S. government — funds now building the tribe's new Justice Center, Wellness Center, and other infrastructure, work Cherokee Nation leadership publicly recognized. He's also been active in tribal sovereignty advocacy, including the 2021 rally in Tulsa defending the McGirt v. Oklahoma ruling, as covered by the Cherokee Phoenix.
